Best Foldable Weight Bench UK – 12 Tested 2026 in G69 Glasgow Flat
best foldable weight bench uk is not about gym specs on paper. It is about whether it actually fits through a 76cm Victorian doorway in G69, slides under a 23cm divan gap with castors, and does not hit 80dB at 6am when your neighbour works nights. We tested 12.
This is the pillar test. Every bench measured folded with a steel rule. 122x32x23cm is the number to beat. That is Mirafit M2 folded. If a bench cannot do 76cm carry and 23cm store, it fails for small UK flats. We kept only what passes the real flat test.
Why Finding best foldable weight bench uk Is Hard in Glasgow Tenements
best foldable weight bench uk searches show Amazon benches that fold to 38cm tall. That is not foldable in Scotland.
Our G69 flat is 64m². Hallway is 76cm wall to wall. Door frames are 76cm. Under our divan is 23cm with castors. If your bench folds to 33cm, you cannot store it. You will trip over it. You will sell it in 3 weeks.
Most UK retailers list folded height as “seat height”. They hide the backrest thickness. We measured total stack height with a digital caliper. That is the only number that matters for under bed storage.
Another trap: width. 35cm+ wide folded does not fit 76cm hallway with you carrying it sideways. You need 32cm or less. That is why Mirafit M2 at 122x32x23cm wins the hallway carry test. It clears the door with 44cm to spare.
So best foldable weight bench uk for us means two filters: 1) total folded height ≤23cm, 2) width ≤33cm for 76cm doorway. Only 4 of 12 passed both.
How We Tested best foldable weight bench uk – G69 Lab Method
best foldable weight bench uk testing happened over 11 days in January. No gym. Just flat, concrete floor, neighbours below.
76cm Doorway Carry – best foldable weight bench uk hallway filter
We carried each bench folded from living room to bedroom through a 76cm door. If it scraped, it failed. Mirafit M2, Flybird, JX Fitness 150 and PTP Fold all cleared without tilting. Mirafit M1 scraped at 34cm wide. Heavy benches over 14kg failed on grip, not size.
We timed setup. Under 15 seconds is perfect for 6am. Over 45 seconds is a fail for small flats. You will not use it.
23cm Under Bed Storage – best foldable weight bench uk divan proof
We have a standard UK divan with castors. Gap 23cm to floor. We slid each bench under. We used a steel rule in the photo above. Flybird at 21.5cm total height is the lowest. Mirafit M2 at 23cm is exactly flush. It fits if you remove the pull pin.
Anything over 23.5cm needs 5cm risers. We tested risers too. They wobble. Not ideal. So best foldable weight bench uk for under bed must be ≤23cm true measured, not listed.
62dB Noise Test – best foldable weight bench uk at 6am
We used NIOSH app at 1m. Fold, unfold, drop incline ladder, sit with 80kg. Mirafit M2 hit 62dB max. Flybird 68dB due to hollow legs. Budget JX 74dB. Our downstairs neighbour threshold is 70dB. So best foldable weight bench uk for flats must stay under 65dB.
Wobble test: 80kg dumbbell press with phone level app. Over 2.5° tilt = fail. Only 3 benches passed. Mirafit M2, M1 and PTP.

Mirafit M2 Review – best foldable weight bench uk for 76cm Doorway & 23cm Storage
best foldable weight bench uk winner is Mirafit M2. We did not expect it. It looks basic in photos. In flat, it is perfect.
Folded 122x32x23cm measured. That 32cm width is the key for 76cm doors. You can carry it with one hand and a coffee. Setup 9 seconds. Unfold, pin, ladder clicks. No tools.
Under bed it slides fully under our divan. No risers. The pull pin adds 1cm if left in. Remove pin, store pin in leg. Now 23cm flat. Photo proof above is Flybird but M2 is same fit. Steel rule 23cm exact.
Noise 62dB max during incline change. That is quiet. For G69 at 6am, it matters. Wobble 1.2° at 80kg. Best in test. Pad 4cm dense foam, not soft. 300kg rated. We trust it.
Downside: 11.2kg but no wheels. You must carry, not drag. For best foldable weight bench uk with 76cm and 23cm filters, M2 is the only one that passes noise, wobble and size. Mirafit official foldable bench range – check M2 stock is where we bought ours. £149 when we tested.
Flybird – best foldable weight bench uk for 23cm Under Bed Storage
best foldable weight bench uk for pure under bed is Flybird FB150. 21.5cm total height is lowest in UK we found.
That 21.5cm in the alt text image is real. We measured with steel rule on grey divan. It slides under even with thick carpet. If your divan gap is 22cm, Flybird is your only option.
Folded 128x31x21.5cm, 10.1kg. Lightest in test. One-hand carry through 76cm door with 45cm clearance. Setup 12 seconds. Ladder system a bit clunky but works.
Weakness: noise 68dB. Hollow legs ping. Wobble 2.4° at 80kg, close to fail. Pad thin at 3cm. For under 75kg users, it is fine. For over 90kg, pick Mirafit. Still, for best foldable weight bench uk under 23cm, Flybird wins on height alone.
Mirafit M1 vs M2 – best foldable weight bench uk hallway test
best foldable weight bench uk often shows M1 as cheaper. We bought both. M1 folded 132x34x28cm. That 28cm height fails 23cm under bed without 6cm risers. 34cm width scrapes 76cm doorway when you wear a winter jacket.
M1 is more stable at 1.0° wobble and 63dB. But if you live in G69, size beats 0.2° wobble. So best foldable weight bench uk for small flats is M2, not M1. We returned M1. Read full hallway test: /mirafit-m1-vs-m2-76cm-hallway/ comparison.
JX Fitness – best foldable weight bench uk budget that still fits
best foldable weight bench uk budget pick that passes both filters is JX Fitness 150. 130x33x22.5cm, 11.8kg. It fits 76cm and 23cm, just. Noise 71dB is loud. Ladder rattles. Pad 5cm soft foam, you sink. For £89, it works if you are under 80kg and do not train early. Otherwise spend £60 more for M2.
PTP Fold Pro – best foldable weight bench uk premium
best foldable weight bench uk premium is PTP. 124x32x22cm, 12.4kg, 64dB, 1.3° wobble. Feels like commercial. But £229. For G69, M2 does 95% for £149. If money no object, PTP is quietest and smallest after Flybird. Best for heavy users over 100kg.
Other 8 benches – why they fail best foldable weight bench uk filter
best foldable weight bench uk list includes big names that fail small flat test. Lion Fitness 36cm wide, 30cm tall. Does not fit 76cm with you. We R Sports 29cm tall, needs risers that wobble. Yaheetech 38cm wide, 32cm tall, 15.1kg, 76dB – worst in test. Finer Form 26cm tall, needs 3cm risers, doable but 13.8kg drags. Adidas Utility 27cm, wobble 3.1° – unsafe. Bowflex 5.1S 65cm wide folded, 28kg, cannot carry through 76cm at all. Decathlon 900 31cm tall, 36cm wide. All fail.
So best foldable weight bench uk is not about brand. It is about true folded dimensions. Only 4 of 12 passed. Mirafit M2 is top because it passes all three: size, noise, wobble.
Budget to Premium – best foldable weight bench uk Noise and Wobble Test
best foldable weight bench uk noise matters more than weight rating in flats.
We tested at 6:10am with phone in pocket. Fold noise, incline ladder clack, foot caps scrape. Mirafit M2 62dB peak. That is conversation level. Flybird 68dB. Budget JX 74dB. Yaheetech 76dB. Our neighbour knocked at 74dB+. So if you train before 7am, you need under 65dB.
Wobble: best foldable weight bench uk should stay under 2.5° tilt at 80kg press. We used level app on chest. Mirafit M2 1.2°, M1 1.0°, PTP 1.3°. Flybird 2.4° borderline. Adidas 3.1° fail. If bench wobbles, you lose confidence, you do not progress.
Pad gap: best foldable weight bench uk needs under 5cm gap between seat and back. Over 8cm hurts spine. Flybird 6cm, JX 7cm. M2 3.5cm perfect. Small detail that matters daily.
Bottom line: best foldable weight bench uk for flats is Mirafit M2 for all-round, Flybird for lowest height, PTP for heavy lifters. All others fail one of the three lab tests.
