US garages are not Glasgow tenements. Our G69 flat has 76cm doors, 23cm divan centre clearance measured with a steel rule under bedding, 55cm cupboard depth, and laminate that scratches if you drag 40kg. We bought 4 benches, 3 dumbbell sets, 2 treadmills with our own money – no gifted kits, no renders. Most compact gym equipment UK lists ignore the hallway turn with shoes, buggy, and an 8cm radiator. They quote US 80cm doors – that 2cm matters when you have a 69cm bathroom door inside.

Steel rule measurement is non-negotiable. Our divan centre is 23cm, not the advertised 25cm edge. The bench must fold to 22cm to actually slide. Cupboard is 55cm deep, so folded treadmill at 98cm long must go vertical. We tested at 6AM against a shared wall with NIOSH app at 1m – over 62dB fails. That eliminates 90% of compact gym equipment UK that claims quiet.

For under-bed proof see our best foldable bench under bed storage UK 23cm test. If it doesn’t pass 76cm boxed, 23cm under-bed, 62dB cap, it’s not compact gym equipment UK – it’s garage gym equipment UK mislabelled.

We tested two folding treadmill small flat UK units that claim cupboard storage. Mobvoi Home Treadmill measured 98x72x32cm folded – that 32cm depth is critical, it clears our 55cm cupboard door but only if you go vertical behind coats. WalkingPad C2 measured 82x55x13cm folded flat – under-bed impossible at 23cm, but behind sofa works. This is why compact gym equipment UK specs lie: they quote running deck, not folded storage with handles.

6AM noise test with 10mm mat on laminate, NIOSH app at 1m: Mobvoi 62dB at 6km/h, WalkingPad 54dB at 6km/h. Our shared wall cap is 62dB – chat on phone at 1m. Mobvoi passes barely, WalkingPad passes comfortably. Both are true compact home gym equipment UK because they store below 32cm, unlike NordicTrack which needs 90cm.

Hallway 76cm turn: Mobvoi boxed 102x78x36cm – 78cm width means you must tilt 30 degrees to clear radiator + shoes. We filmed it. WalkingPad boxed 88x60x18cm – easy 76cm pass. For folding treadmill small flat UK buyers, boxed size matters more than folded – delivery through tenement close is the first fail.

Alternative if treadmill fails noise: folding exercise bike small space X-frame 45x45x130cm, 14kg, under desk 0dB alternative. We use it at 6AM when neighbours are home. It’s not compact gym equipment UK for legs heavy, but for Zone 2 it is landlord safe gym equipment – no floor bolts, no mat needed. Second unit for folding exercise bike small space users: UREVO foldable bike 48x48x120cm also 0dB.

Bottom line for small flat gym setup UK: if you have 55cm cupboard, Mobvoi works. If you only have under-bed 23cm, no treadmill fits – use bike. Every compact gym equipment UK here passed our folding treadmill small flat UK cupboard test. Another small flat gym setup UK tip: measure your cupboard internal, not door frame – ours is 52cm internal. And compact gym equipment UK must be landlord safe gym equipment – we tested scratches with 10mm mat vs bare laminate. compact home gym equipment UK that needs drilling is automatically out for renters.

Test at 6AM shared wall 62dB max chat phone at 1m – we use NIOSH app, iPhone 12 at 1m from source on laminate with 10mm mat. Door test roll through 76cm hallway with shoes, buggy, radiator 8cm protrusion – you have 68cm clear on our flat. If boxed product doesn’t roll, it fails. Under-bed steel rule centre divan photo bedding up – we lift bedding, steel rule vertical centre, photo with tape. 23cm divan centre is the real number, not edge. Every compact gym equipment UK passed means it passed all three.

Why 76cm not 80cm? UK tenement standard is 76cm internal, US is 80cm. Brands quote US. That 2cm matters when you have 69cm bathroom door inside – we have one.
